Lower Leg Contusion: I am assuming by you description that there was no breaks in the skin which is great. You developed a contusion and loss the battle with an immovable object. Contusions need to be treated with vigorous ice massage for 5-8 minutes 3 times a day to get rid of the blood and inflammation. Keep moving the ankle so it does not stiffen up, and see if you can stretch it out several times a day. Dr blake.
