A member asked:

If the body has a natural tendency to heal itself, why must physicians surgically remove parts of the colon or intestine?

Healing: There are times when the body does not heal itself, and this is where doctors step in, otherwise the medical profession will not be necessary.

Healing: The body does have the ability to heal itself, but needs support and stronger interventions at times. If there are tumors in the colon, vascular damage, or extreme inflammation that kills part of the colon, those parts must be removed so that the rest can function well (and so can you!). Most doctors are as conservative as possible in such surgeries, and do not recommend them without cause.

See details: There are numerous disease that time will not cure. Hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease cancer, the list goes on and on. Why was it necessary to remove part of the intestine? One cannot say without knowing the underlying disease and the specific reasons for suggesting surgery.
