Long time: Women without risk factors like chronic hypertension, diabetes with damage to their blood vessels, history of blood clot, smoking, can take birth control well into their 40's. As you know all birth control pills can thicken your blood, and put you at increased risk for blood clot. Yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) a little more so (3-4 in 10, 000 women versus 1 in 10, 000 with regular birth control). Exercise and be health.
