Red spot: Yes. It will go away with time or least late somewhat depending on your natural skin tone. There are people who have exaggerated scars though and you should talk to the dermatologist about the spot. You should also know the results of your path exam so that you will be able to take any action needed if more of the spot needs to be removed.
