I have a sore inside my mouth, on my cheek and it feels likea canker sore. however, it doesn't resemble with any of the pictures that i have looked up. could it be cancer?

Mouth sore: You may have leukoplakia, which may be precancerous. Get checked out by a dentist, oral surgeon or dermatologist.

Cheek bite?: Did you bite your cheek recently? This can cause pain like a canker sore. If you don't know the cause of this sore then it is best to see your dentist and have it evaluated.

Wide variation: It's nice to try to diagnose something yourself by looking at pictures on the internet, but you really need a trained professional to take a look and diagnose this. Canker sores (aphthous ulcers) can vary widely in size, appearance and number.

The great majority of oral lesions are benign, and self heal in 14 days or less. If yours is not completely gone in 2 weeks from onset, see your General Dentist, specialist Oral /Surgeon, or specialist oral pathologist. Remember that 5 minute google search is not then equivalent of years of formal training and a lifetime of practical experience. If concerned, see your Dentist now.
