Depends: The treatment for facial fractures may involve simple observation to placement of metal plates to stabilize the fractures to complex reconstruction to prevent other known complications. Depends on: Age, which bones, whether displaced, over all health etc. If elderly, nondisplaced, minimal pain eg can watch on soft diet. Aside from cost, there is little downside to surgery, however & it an prevent mult future problems.

Observe vs surgery: Seek evaluation asap. If you require an operation, it is best done within a week or so. Depending on the fracture location, there can be significant problems if the fractures are not addressed. Seek a ent, (facial) plastic surgeon, or omfs in your area who takes care of facial trauma.

Depends on severity: Some facial fractures do not require any surgical treatment and will heal on their own. More severe fractures that have multiple and displaced fractures will usually need surgical repair. A facial bone c/t scan is essential to make these decisions.
