DM vs another UTI: How was your UTI diagnosis made last month? How was it treated? It's possibly that your UTI wasn't treated completely (did you finish complete course of antibiotics?). Urinary frequency has several causes besides urinary tract infection. Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus ranks high up there. Diabetes insipidus is much less common but can happen. Overactive bladder is more common in older women. Meds?

How do you know?: It might not be that the urine infection is gone--or it may have recurred. You need a repeat urinalysis test to check this. You may also have a urethritis causing irritation and the urge to go, which your dr can give you Pyridium (phenazopyridine) to relieve the symptoms of.
