Plantar Heel Pain: This pain is one of the more common in podiatry. Exercises to stretch the achilles tendon to relieve the pressure on the bottom of the foot. Anti-inflammatories work best. Also try using an ice bottle rolling on bottom of foot. While common, its difficult to go away because you walk. If the pain is not getting any better seeing a podiatrist will help to evaluate for fasciitis/heel spur pain.

Plantar Fasciitis: It sounds like you have plantar fasciitis. Try stretching and using ice to the arch and heel of your foot for 20-30 minutes twice daily. If persists see a podiatrist.
