Normal: I typically tell patients when i put in a Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud that it's common for some women to lose their period all together. The Progesterone in the iud causes the lining of the uterus to thin out so much that there's basically nothing to bleed from. Yea! so, nothing to worry about. It can be disconcerting, but it's completely normal. Best of luck!
