No good studies: Evening primrose oil has been around for centuries and used for many conditions. However, it has not been well studied such that we don't have good evidence of what it does or does not do, even though we know that it contains an essential fatty acid. Many things, safe: Evening primrose oil is a source of GLA, an essential Omega 6 fatty acid. It is used for many things including eczema, arthritis, PMS and diabetic neuropathy. It is very safe. Like all supplements and meds, it does not help everyone and more research is needed.
