Maybe: Evening primrose oil is often recommended by midwives, both orally & topically. While many swear by it, there has not been much formal research. One small study did not find it helped, but in the study it was not used the way it is usually recommended! see http://www.Families.Com/blog/can-evening-primrose-oil-help-soften-the-cervix i advise asking your midwife or obstetrician.
