A member asked:

If methotrexate injworked great at controlling my symptoms but gave me gi issues, is it likely that imuran (azathioprine) tablets would give me gi side effects too?

See details: I have personally never seen a case of GI intolerance to injectable Methotrexate and I have literally had scores of patients on it. Other rheumatologists on this forum may have a different experience. The major side effect of Imuran (azathioprine) is GI intolerance.

Hard to say: It's possible you may have GI side effects from imuran, (azathioprine) but likely more bone marrow suppression.

Not necessarily : Not necessarily. Though such effects are common with immuran by itself it is worth a try if it is strongly indicated in your situation.
