Either : Removal of uterus, tube and ovaries is an important risk reducing procedure. It is important that your surgeon is familiar with treating patients with hereditary cancer syndromes because how the surgery is done can effect your long term outcome. Your gyn is fine: I'm glad you were diagnosed. Your personal gynecologist can handle this since on the evidence you do not have cancer yet. In fact, if you aren't sure that you want the hysterectomy, but were advised that you "should" because of the risk, get the facts and decide for yourself.
