Should be low: There are several alternatives to treating cerebral aneurysms, depending on location, include surgical clipping or endovascular treatment. Currently, most treatments involve coil embolization for narrow neck aneurysms and stent placement for wide neck aneurysms. In an elective setting, the risk for death should be about 1%, permanent neurologic deficit, 1% and transient complication rate of 5%.
