Domestic abuse: Regardless of what has made your mom sick, you have no control over it. Whenever alcohol is involved, a person's behavior can become dangerous. It's important you have a safety plan: determine a safe place you can run to in case mom's behavior becomes dangerous. Pack a small bag of necessities that you can grab quickly to take with you. In meantime, support your mom 100% in any help she pursues.

Likely an alcoholic: Alcohol may directly diminish inhibitions. In addition a longstanding history of alcohol suggest the possibility of cirrhosis. Get her in to her doctor to check her liver function and ammonial levels, she may be developing a hepatic encephalopathy.
