Booster plus....: Adults 19-64 years of age should receive a single dose of "tdap" for booster immunization if their most recent tetanus toxoid-containing vaccine was 10 or more years earlier. The "tdap" vaccine protects you not only from tetanus, but also for pertussis since it also has a vaccine component called "diphtheria toxoids" that boosts immunity against this disease.
