A member asked:

I'm in a hurry and need my mouth guard for football , i just got a new one but don't have time to boil it. what should i do?

Your choice: Either take the time to fit this mouth guard or don't play football today. In the future you may consider a custom fitted mouth guard. They are long lasting, more comfortable and. More effective in preventing injuries than the boil and bite ones.

Be smart: Without a properly fitting mouth guard you run the risk of damage to your teeth and worst case scenario having one or more of them knocked out. It's your call but in our office we have personally seen patients lose teeth from sports injuries when they failed to wear a properly fitting mouth guard. Consider being a little late but safe. Get a professionally made mouth guard.
