A member asked:

Do people ever get a trapped nerve in the chest?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, but: This is something that can happen after an operation in the chest, and is more common with open operations compared to those done thoracoscopically (minimally invasive surgery). Shingles can cause non surgically related nerve pain in the chest. It would be very unusual to have a spontaneous pinched nerve without some sort of trauma. Hope this helps!
