Compare and contrast ibs and diverticulitis?

Different: Ibs is either irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease. Irritable bowel is spasms associated with constipation and diarrhea. Inflammatory disease is bowel wall and bowel lining inflammation with swelling and ulcers, maybe diarrhea and bleeding. Diverticulitis is an active infection of small pouches that form on the wall of the colon, requires antibiotics to treat.

Irritate /inflammed: Diverticulitis is inflammation of a diverticulum which is an out-pouching of the intestine that could lead to an infection, whereas ibs is irritable bowel syndrome not necessarily inflammation.
