A member asked:

Are there ways to internally bruise a bone?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You can bruise bone: Bones can be injured without breaking, and the bones are covered by a layer of tissue which is very sensitive to pain. The area affected is usually very sore to the touch or may be at the point of a tendon or ligament attachment and cause pain with movement. The soreness can sometimes linger for weeks (or longer).
