3 main causes: The 3 most common causes of chronic cough are asthma, reflux disease, and allergies/sinusitis. It sounds like he may have the latter. He could try otc allergy meds and nasal saline irrigation. He may also need prescription medications and possible allergy testing. Other causes can be treated with acid medications or asthma medications and may need evaluation for other causes.
