I did a search for diagnosis of some of my symptoms and came up with pelvic abscess. what do doctors look for to diagnose it?

Signs that you may have one include, abdominal or pelvic pain, fever, chills. There are many sources including appendicitis, diverticulitis, crohn's disease, cancer, ovarian abscess, among others. A ct or cat scan will establish this finding.

Atypical mass on xra: Pelvic abscesses are rare and due to the progression of a prior infection. Usually someone has a high fever, severe abdominal pain, and pain on exam. Masses or collections of pus can be seen on ultrasound or ct exam. Treatment is urgently needed if this is the correct diagnosis. Do not delay seeking treatment if you think you have an abscess.
