Sometimes: Laparoscopy is one of the last (and most invasive) steps in diagnosing the cause if pelvic pain. While it is very good at finding the cause of the pain in many cases, the cases that go to surgery for diagnosis are often the most puzzling ones. In these cases, it's not uncommon for there to be no clear diagnosis even after surgery. Even without a diagnosis, laparoscopy can help rule out some causes.
