A member asked:

I'm wondering why are people with breathing problems more prone to heat strokes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Breathing: People with respiratory problems work harder to breath when conditions are ideal. When conditions require more metabolic energy to be expended to compensate for the stress of the condition, the total expenditure for folks already committing lots of energy to breathing becomes higher and more difficult to achieve.
