Head trauma: If you suffered a head injury, and now have cognitive issues, it is possible, but many folks experience a post-traumatic stress disorder which causes problems with both emotions and intellectual pursuits. If this describes you, seek a psychiatrist or psychologist, and get an evaluation.

Possibly: It is possible to be suffering long sequelae from a brain injury. The chances of this are increased the more severe the tbi, and the greater the extent of injury seen on the ct/mri. You want to ensure that there are no structural abnomalities such as post-traumatic hydrocephalus, or a recurrence of subdural hematomas. These are easily detected on scans and can be treated.
