Not good: Any time there is a penetrating injury to the brain, that is a serious matter. There is brain tissue that is damaged as well as blood vessels. This obviously can be lethal. This should be treated at a high level neurosurgical center with the experience and equipment to deal with this serious situation.

Brain damage: The brain damege is related to the area of the brain stabbed and how deep the blade went, if it was a three inch penetration into the brain that can potentially cause a serious injury but then some parts of the brain are more susceptible to injury than others.
