A member asked:

Can someone get mental problems from being alone to much?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Being alone: Being isolated deprives one of the social experiences that allow us to participate in the world at large. On the other hand, people who are depressed and anxious may often seek solitary times which is the result of their underlying mental problems.
