My dentist said i have a small hole in my tooth and i should put some toothpaste on it each night. is there any other way to help seal up the cavity?

Toothpaste for brush: I am not understanding what toothpaste is going to do. My guess is it is one of 3 things, you need nothing, there is something that should be sealed with a plastic coating, or you need a filling.

MI Paste ?: If your dentist told you to use mi paste, that will help strengthen the tooth if any decay has started. This is not sealing the cavity, but actually trying to repair it.

Hole? Cavity?: While there are some toothpastes that can remineralize decalcified enamel, merely applying normal tooth paste will do nothing. I'm not sure which one your dentist recommended or is referring to. Personally, if i had a suspicious lesion in my own tooth, i would want a dental sealant, flowable composite or a small bonded filling. You might want to get more clarification regarding treatment choices.

I'm not agree with : His suggestion, if it is a cavity have them do very conservative prep and seal the tooth.
