Anemia: Do you or does her father have an inherited red blood cell disorder like sickle cell anemia or thalassemia etc? Definitely you should ask your pediatrician further about what he/she means. What trait means most likely that she has a distinguishing genetically determined feature on her complete blood count result- that indicates mild abnormality on the rbc indices but not very significant.
