Yes: Many patient with hepatitis c can be cured with current medications. These are usually a combination of incivek, victrelis, (boceprevir) Pegasys and ribavarin. However, not all patients can be cured and other patients have cirrhosis where the medicines do not work as well.

Yes, unlike HIV : Unlike HIV or hepatitis b, hepatitis c can be eliminated from the body and is considered curable. Over the next few years we will have many more treatment options that should increase the chance that most people will be able to be cured. Stay in touch with your hepatitis c specialist and see if there is anything you can do to stay healthy (such as do not drink alcohol) in the meantime.
