Soon: Most muscle strains like back strains can take 4 to 8 weeks to completely resolve. Lite exercise is ok during this time but i would not recommend weight lifting exercises like squats, leg presses or lunging till pain is all gone. Lite weight work and common sense (stop if pain develops) is generally ok as tolerated.
