A member asked:

I have ha-mrsa & on iv vanco for 6 weeks. what is long term prognosis? i'm 44 & worried i will eventually die from it. how long can ppl live with it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

MRSA: The chances are your infection will be well controlled because almost all MRSA responds to vancomycin. Make sure your kidney function and vancomycin level is monitored. From 6 weeks of treatment I am assuming you have a bone infection. The prognosis is good but it depends on lots of other factors like other concomitant illness.
