Corticosteroids: Most cases of csr occur in men between the ages of 25 and 55. Most of the time there is no obvious cause and most cases improve without treatment. Stress and cortisone type steroids are the most common cause when a cause can be identified. There is some evidence that stimulant type drugs like decongestants can be a cause. Theoretically, caffeine falls in this group, and should be used moderately.
