Is it necessary to fix an anguinal hernia?

Usually: Inguinal hernias, if not fixed, can sometimes lead to more serious complications. While non-surgical therapies have been used, more recent data suggests a large number of these patients will end up needing surgery to fix the hernia. Inguinal hernias can be fixed laparoscopically (using a camera and small incisions), with a quick recovery. See a "minimally invasive" specialist.

Depends: If it bothers you then surgery is the best treatment. If it does not cause a lot of pain and discomfort then you may wait and see how it goes. However if it ever gets hard and painful suddenly with nausea and vomiting, then it needs to be fixed immediately via the er.
