My preference: I'm not a big fan of lid scrubs although i know that most eye docs are taught to use them. I find that they are often more irritating than helpful. Instead, i prefer simple warm compresses for 5 minutes once or twice a day.

Compress first: In treating blepharitis the goal is to clear the eyelid margins of debris/oil/bacteria. Warm compresses help to soften dried matter and make scrubs more effective. So if you have the patience, do warm compresses first then scrub with pads. An easy alternative is to scrub closed lids with soap/shampoo lather with your index fingers in shower and rinse thoroughly before opening. Takes 20 seconds.
