Back pain: Severe and incapacitating. You need to be seen by a doctor and make sure there is no evidence for a disk herniation. If this is muscular, therapy with relaxants, massage, heat, electrical stimulation and other techniques can be very helpful. See somebody soon. Good luck and get better.

See below: There are many potential causes of acute low back pain. The most common causes are related to strain or injury to the mucles and/or structures of the lower spine. The pain should improve in the next week or so with rest, anti-inflammatories, and gentle stretching. See your physician if you have pain greater than 2 weeks.
