A member asked:

I'm 5 weeks pregnant. i've been advised that i can take paracetamol. how many am i allowed per day?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Upper limit: An upper limit is traditionally quoted as 4000mg, but if it were me, i would try to stay under 2000-3000mg a day. If you are taking a 500mg dose, that would be 4-6 in 24 hours. Important too, is how many days in a row you take it for. High doses combined with multiple days at high doses, can lead to liver damage.
