Does using buspar (buspirone) affects the hippocampus? is it therefore a good idea to use it in an alzheimer's patient?

May be used: I know of no contraindication to using Buspirone in alzheimer's disease, especially as it has a clean profile on anticholinergic receptors.

No: There is no evidence that Buspirone or Buspar (buspirone) helps people with alzheimer's. It has no effect on the pathophysiology involved in this illness and does not change the structure in the hippocampus.
