Dates are sticky: Very high in sugar and are very bad for you dentally. Please consult with a dentist soon, stop eating the dates, refrain from acidic foods and liquids in the interim. Hope this helps.

Cavities and sugar: Sensitivity to sweets, sugar (like dates) usually occurs when one has cavities or marginal breakdown around existing fillings. See your dentist for a complete and thorough checkup and x-rays. Limit the amount and frequency of sticky starchy sugary foods as they contribute to tooth decay.
