It can be.: However, there are other neurologic conditions which can lead to this nonspecific symptom. One should see a neurologist and/or a neurosurgeon to be fully evaluated.

Possibly: It is usually caused by a nerve compression either in the leg, foot or back. You should have the area evualated and treated if possible.
