What symptoms?: Not sure what you mean by "sidestepped these symptoms". It's doubtful that your physician put you on a "waiting list" but more likely that your insurance is putting up a road block to you getting scanned, possibly by requiring prior authorization. Because you're still concerned, get a 2nd opinion (you may have to pay for it out of pocket).

"Tumour": By the way you wrote "tumour", i'm assuming you do not live in the us (maybe uk?) and thus i'm not sure how things work there from the insurance perspective. Docs do not have "waiting lists". That sounds like an administrative term i would hear from the insurance people. Your doc may have used his clinical judgement and felt your odds of a brain tumor are not enough to justify a scan.
