Let help: This year, an estimated 22, 910 adults (12, 630 men and 10, 280 women) in the United States will be diagnosed with primary malignant tumors of the brain and spinal cord. It is estimated that 13, 700 adults (7, 720 men and 5, 980 women) will die from this disease this year.

Depends: The average primary care physician probably will see only 1 patient with a brain tumor in their entire career. Oncologists see far more and neuro-oncologists such as me see very many. Our program sees over 1000 patients new to duke each year with a brain tumor.
