RICE stands for : Rest, ice, compression and elevation and suggest some otc nsaids . If within a few days no improvement then get it checked.

Don't ignore it: There has to be something that your body is doing with that prolonged activity that triggers the swelling. There may a fatigue in the muscle that develops which then creates bad mechanics in the ankle when running. Have a podiatrist examine you and your gait. Bring the shoes that you run in as well. The exam may reveal things or additional tests like MRI to examine soft tissue better.
