I had lipoma removed in april. it's grown back on the side of my shin. it was sent to pathology and def was lipoma. why did another grow back so fast?

Re-excise: This is common, even if complete surgical excision rather than liposuction was used. And lipomas are often multiple. The surgeon will make a note that the lipoma is recurrent; the pathologist may take a few extra sections to look for malignancy.

Lipoma Removal: If a lipoma is not completely removed it may grow back. Also, it is possible to develop lipomas in other areas of the body unrelated to the area which you had surgery.
