Harmless: Air is getting pushed into the vagina during sex and you are holding it in for a while with your vaginal muscles. When you relax them at the end the air escapes and makes the sound. Since your partner should not want you to relax those muscles during sex, you both should not consider it embarrassing. Experiment with different positions to see if that makes it more or less likely to happen.
