Have urinalysis: There are a number of things that can make urine smell, from foods, such as asparagus, from disease releasing ketone such as in maple syrup urine disease and ketoacidosis, but most often it is the smell of ammonia from urea breakdown in the urine. I suggest that you have your urine checked for evidence of bacteria in the urine, which accounts for most of ammonia released from urine.
