If it's normal: That would be a good sign, but fasting and at least two hours post meal has better standardized normals to compare with. A1c is also sometimes helpful. Talk w/your doctor.

Postprandial sugar: It depends on what you're trying to assess. 1 hour after lunch sugar reading is not approved for the diagnosis of diabetes. It may be used to assess the control of diabetes in response to meal, but not for the diagnosis of it.
