Myalgia : Diffuse myalgia or muscle ache can be due to underlying medical conditions. If this is an acute problem, rhabdomyolysis should be ruled out as can rapidly lead to serious consequences such as renal failure. Dark urine may be seen. Inflammatory myopathy (e.g. Dermato-, poly- myositis) can also do this and should be ruled out since there are proximal symptoms. See your doctor for exam and labs.
