Yes: You just cannot make out the fine details, such as reading at a short distance or threading a needle.

Yes but less clearly: Presbyopia doesn't affect just reading but everything up close. Food on a table, your face in a mirror, your own hands, etc, will me less in focus as presbyopia sets in. Think of a camera focused on an image far away. Objects up close are seen in the photo, but will be blurred. So you'll see your fingers in front of your face but not the fine details of your skin and fingernails.
