A member asked:

Is it ok to lay on your back during pregnancy? i've heard its not but im unsure?

Blood flow: Early on, it's not a problem. As you get toward the end and the baby and uterus is large, laying directly on back can compress mom's blood vessels (aorta and vena cava), and with that can reduce blood flow to the placenta. So it's best those last 6-8 weeks to stay off direct back and blood flow is best laying on the left side.
